Guide Labs | Initialized Capital

Congrats to Guide Labs and Julius Adebayo on their $9 million seed round of funding with Initialized Capital.

Goldwax was lucky enough to be brought on this project by Initialized Capital to help introduce Guide Labs to the world. We interviewed cofounder and CEO, Julius Adebayo and managing partner at Initialized Capital, Brett Gibson who both explained what Guide Labs does and also the greater impact on AI and the world Guide Labs potentially has.

The project consisted of a one day video shoot in downtown San Francisco in a shared office space. Luckily for the interviews, we had a large conference room that didn’t have too many things in there. We cleared the space we wanted to use and was able to compose a clean backdrop utilizing the windows and shades in the space. We typically don’t shoot straight on with our subject in the middle of the frame, but the space was perfect for it and we could not pass up the opportunity. Lighting consisted of the Aputure 600x with large light dome, two Sony FX6’s, backlight and shotgun mic for audio.

Shooting Broll in such a tiny office space definitely had it’s challenges, but I got a good mix of shots to keep the video interesting and even utilized the hard light naturally coming through the large windows of their office space. To help keep things visually interesting we also had Julius walk the office with a coworker and then work side by side in an informal meeting setting. Then for our last shot of the day, we got Julius with a different coworker to walk outside of the office in downtown San Francisco, to not only keep things interesting, but to also visually tell the audio that Guide Labs is in the heart of the tech capital of the world, San Francisco. I believe this helps give them credibility in the tech space while also keeping the video engaging for the viewer.
